TEACHERS AND TRAINING
Julio’s first yoga teacher Luciana Perez, was the person who unexpectedly opened the doors to the possibility of becoming a yoga teacher. He met Luciana while practising yoga as a student at his local gym in São Paulo. She recognised his potential as a yoga teacher, and invited him to teach with her at his new studio. Despite having no formal teacher training at the time, he said yes!
While in Brazil, he completed two yoga teacher trainings, first with Marco Schultz (famous in Brazil for his holistic approach to yoga practice) and second with Karina Ruiz & Dan Gwirtzman to be able to teach Bikram (hot yoga).
After leaving Brazil, Julio spent two months living in India at the Art of Living Ashram in Bangalore and studying in the presence of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. His next stop was Sydney, where he has been living for the past 3 and a half years.
Julio has trained with Noelle Connolly & Kat Clayton in Vinyasa Yoga (50hr), learning from these two amazing teachers how to teach a great vinyasa class from building a sequence through to theming classes to impact each student.
He completed his 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with the legendary Nicky Knoff (where he learned all the foundations based on Iyengar and Ashtanga Yoga). Here he refined his focus on alignment and longer holds for each pose, as well as building these safely for each student.
He has also studied under the guidance of Shiva Rea (70hr) where he refined his vinyasa flow teachings after experiencing her unique style of Prana Flow.
Most recently he is studying his 350hr Yoga Coach Teacher Training with Mark Breadner, learning how to help people to transform their life by applying yoga techniques to unblock energy in their body and mind.
